Welcome to CocoWash! These Terms of Service govern your use of our on-demand pickup and delivery auto concierge services. By using our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Services Provided
CocoWash provides on-demand pickup and delivery auto concierge services, including but not limited to:
- Car washing and detailing
- Oil changes
- Tire rotation
- State inspections
- Engine cleaning
- Interior detailing
- Other automotive maintenance services as specified in the app
CocoWash is a technology platform that connects customers with independent drivers who transport customer vehicles to third-party service providers. CocoWash does not itself perform vehicle services and is not responsible for the quality of work performed by third-party providers.
2. User Accounts
2.1 Account Creation
To use CocoWash services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your account information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Customer Accounts: For individuals requesting services
Driver Accounts: For independent contractors providing services
3. Service Booking and Payment
3.1 Booking Process
When you book a service through CocoWash:
- You enter into a contract with CocoWash for the selected services
- Services are subject to availability
- Prices displayed include all applicable fees unless otherwise stated
- You authorize payment through your selected payment method
3.2 Payment Terms
- Payment Authorization: By booking, you authorize CocoWash to charge your payment method for the total amount shown
- Accepted Payment Methods: Credit cards, debit cards, and other methods displayed in the app
- Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. CocoWash does not store your full card details
- Receipts: Electronic receipts are provided via email
3.3 Pricing
- Service prices vary by location and service type
- Prices are displayed before you confirm your booking
- Prices may change based on demand, time, and location
- Any additional services requested may incur extra charges
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
4.1 Cancellation by Customer
- Full refund: Cancellation before a driver is assigned
- 50% refund: Cancellation after a driver is assigned but before the driver is en route
- 50% refund: Cancellation more than 2 hours before a scheduled pickup time
- No refund: Cancellation when a driver is already en route to your location
- No refund: Cancellation less than 1 hour before a scheduled pickup time
- No refund: Once your vehicle has been picked up
4.2 Cancellation by CocoWash
CocoWash may cancel your service if:
- No driver is available in your area
- Weather or safety conditions prevent service
- Your vehicle is in a condition that cannot be safely serviced
- Any violation of these Terms occurs
If CocoWash cancels, you will receive a full refund within 5-7 business days.
4.3 Refund Policy
- Service Not Completed: Full refund if service cannot be completed
- Service Quality Issues: Partial or full refund at CocoWash's discretion after review
- Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
- Refund Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method
4.4 Disputes
If you are unsatisfied with a service:
- Contact us at support@cocowash.org within 48 hours of service completion
- Provide photos and a description of the issue
- We will review and respond within 3 business days
5. Vehicle Access and Responsibility
5.1 Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide safe and legal access to your vehicle
- Remove all valuables and personal items before pickup
- Ensure your vehicle is in safe operating condition
- Provide accurate vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate)
- Ensure you have valid insurance coverage for your vehicle
5.2 Prohibited Items
You must not leave the following in your vehicle:
- Weapons or illegal substances
- Large amounts of cash or jewelry
- Hazardous materials
- Pets or animals
- Perishable items
6. Insurance and Liability
6.1 CocoWash Insurance
CocoWash maintains Garage Keeper's Liability insurance covering customer vehicles while in the care, custody, and control of an active CocoWash Driver. Coverage applies during active jobs from vehicle pickup to dropoff. Coverage details are available upon request at support@cocowash.org.
6.2 Vehicle Damage Claims
For damage claims during an active job:
- Report damage immediately through the App or at support@cocowash.org
- Do not have repairs made before CocoWash has had the opportunity to investigate
- CocoWash will review all available evidence including before and after service photos
- If damage is confirmed to have occurred during the job, CocoWash will initiate an insurance claim on your behalf
- Insurance coverage limits apply per our active policy. CocoWash's liability beyond insurance coverage shall not exceed the fair market value of the vehicle at the time of the incident
CocoWash is not liable for pre-existing damage documented in before-service photos, normal wear and tear, personal items left inside the vehicle, or mechanical failure unrelated to transport.
6.3 General Limitation of Liability
Except as provided in Section 6.2 (Vehicle Damage During an Active Job), CocoWash's total liability for any claim — including but not limited to app errors, service delays, service quality disputes, or missed pickups — shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
7. Driver Terms
7.1 Independent Contractors
CocoWash drivers are independent contractors, not employees. Drivers:
- Set their own schedules
- Use their own vehicles
- Are responsible for their own taxes
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and insurance
7.2 Driver Review
All drivers go through CocoWash's Driver Review process, which includes:
- Document review (driver's license, vehicle insurance, vehicle registration)
- Profile photo verification
- Review of all submitted information for accuracy
Only drivers who pass the Driver Review and complete payment setup are approved to accept jobs on the platform.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the service for illegal purposes
- Harass, abuse, or harm drivers or other users
- Provide false information
- Interfere with the operation of the platform
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
- Use the service if you are under 18
9. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, and intellectual property related to CocoWash are owned by CocoWash LLC or its licensors. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our content
- Use our trademarks without permission
- Reverse engineer our software
10. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. CocoWash does not collect or store Social Security Numbers or full bank account details. All payment data is handled securely by Stripe, Inc.
11. Modifications to Terms
CocoWash reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via:
- Email notification
- In-app notification
- Updated "Last Updated" date on this page
Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Termination
12.1 By User
You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting support@cocowash.org.
12.2 By CocoWash
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Abuse drivers or staff
- Fail to pay for services
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Montgomery County, Maryland, in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits against CocoWash.
